My 7 Favourite Tom Waits Albums
And How He Influenced My Music
My seventh solo album Everyone Left is out today on all streaming services and one of the core influences of its sound is the music of Tom Waits. I discovered him before I even got into music and instantly fell in love with his strange, bizarre sounds that sit alongside some of the most beautiful songwriting of the last hundred years. There are few truly original artists in music, whose sound utterly defines them and whose influence reaches far and wide, but Waits is one of them.
So to celebrate the release of my new album and one of my favourite artists, here’s a list of my seven favourite records by Tom Waits and how they have influenced the music I make.
